Amanda Mary (Heath) Pierce, born 15 January 1811, Windsor, New York, died, 23 January 1902, Salem, Utah

    Their fifth child, a son, Joseph Henry Pierce, was born 17 January 1838, to Joseph W. and Amanda Pierce, at Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri.     When the Saints were compelled to leave the state of Missouri, the Pierce Family participated in a cooperative plan to help remove needy Saints to Illinois. On January 29, 1839, in Far West, Missouri, Joseph White Pierce subscribed his name, along with many others, pledging their available property and resources for use by the Committee of Removal, to assist the worthy poor and destitute with removal.
